Biography (1)

  • SHORT BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Md Nur Alam, Associate Professor of Mathematics, Pabna University of Science and Technology, Pabna, Bangladesh was born in Panchagarh, Bangladesh on 01 March 1986. He completed his B. Sc. (Hons.) and M. Sc. (Thesis) in Mathematics from Rajshahi University. His M. Sc. thesis was devoted to the applied mathematics to the studies on the nonlinear oscillations in perturbation theory. He also awarded M. Phil Degree in Mathematics in the field of mathematical physics in 2015 from Pabna University of Science and technology, Pabna-6600, Bangladesh. His M. Phil. thesis was devoted to the group approach to the study of Novel (G’/G)-expansion method and its applications of the nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics. He successfully completed his Ph. D. in Computational Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC, China) under a very prestigious scholarship, CAS-TWAS Scholarship that he was awarded (by an international competition) by the CAS-TWAS Scholarship Commission. His Ph. D. thesis was mainly concerned with Computer Aided Geometric Design and Computer Graphics. His Ph. D. thesis is focusing on non-uniform subdivision, which is combining the two main free-form representation methods: non-uniform rational B-splines (NURBS) and uniform subdivision. NURBS have been applied for modeling free-form curves or surfaces as the standard for the industry. In contrast, subdivision methods have enhanced significantly in current years because they give a well-defined and practical approach to define smooth curves and surfaces as an attraction for applications in computer animation, entertainment, and computer graphics. However, there are advantages of subdivision including an arbitrary topology, which could be helpful in CAD. And features of NURBS with the non-uniform parameterizations and an arbitrary degree, which could give excellent supplements to current subdivision surfaces. The subdivision is serviceable for forming smooth curves and surfaces, and it is simple to implement and very efficient to execute. The results of his Ph. D. research works (published in some prestigious international journals) had made Dr. Alam to the CAD and Computer Graphics community. He is currently serving towards developing numerical modeling of Fluid Flow, Heat Transfer, blood flow, Nanofluid Flow, Single/Hybrid Nanofluid Flow, Transport in Porous Medium, and its applications by implementing COMSOL Multi-physics modeling and Tecplot software.   • Dr. Md Nur Alam is currently serving towards developing numerical modeling of Fluid Flow, Heat Transfer, blood flow, Nanofluid Flow, Single/Hybrid Nanofluid Flow, Transport in Porous Medium, and its applications by implementing COMSOL Multi-physics modeling and Tecplot software.
  • My basic research interest is in computer graphics and geometric modeling related subjects. I love to work on challenging problems which are theoretically important or practically valuable in geometric modeling and isogeometic analysis, etc. More specifically, I am interested in the following research topics: Computer aided geometric design and modeling; Isogeometric Analysis; Computer graphics.
